Alyssa and Tyler met in college. He pursued her. She didn't even notice him. He even sent her flowers for Valentine's Day that year and she didn't bite. Eventually she caved and realized how wonderful he really was. Tyler's brother said he would give the shirt off his back for anyone and I believe it. I got to know them a little bit over the course of the year, but felt like I really knew them well after their wedding day. Her best friend and his brother said some really wonderful things about them at dinner, while Alyssa's stepdad, Rod, gave the most heartfelt speech. There wasn't a dry eye in the house, myself included. Alyssa's father passed away when she was two and they honored him in everything on their wedding day. Rod spoke very highly of her father during his speech. At one point, he recounted the time when a little four year old girl looked up at him at the park and said, "Do you love my mommy?". (Cue the tears.) It was clear that she had his heart from day one and I know he was honored to give Alyssa away.

Their wedding day was nothing short of perfect. We had the most BEAUTIFUL weather and everything just fell into place so well. Every single detail was executed flawlessly. The flowers, jewelry, centerpieces, and that dress! She was absolutely stunning. As we were walking through Lake Park, she told me how the dress came together. She arrived at Bliss Bridal last year and couldn't choose between two wedding gowns. The designer's assistant just happened to be in town that day and said she could put the bodice of one dress and the bottom of the other together for her to create her dream dress. How great is that?! And her shoes and jewelry were custom made to match the dress as well.

These two put their love for God first in their lives, and I know it will be no different in their marriage as well. Even though their wedding day was perfect in every way, Alyssa and Tyler know that a solid marriage in Christ is what matters most. I love these two and I know they will be very blessed together!
